Really liked this place. I planned to come back for dinner but it sadly closed. It was a sexy ambiance. Food and drinks were good and the service was friendly. I'm sad to see them go

Came here with 3 other friends for an early dinner on a Saturday with reservations. At the time of entrance, the place was a bit on the empty side, but it was about 5 pm. I was able to find street metered parking which is not always easy in Montclair. But there was a parking garage across the street. This venue is massive but beautiful. The decor is black with accents of gold, very trendy, very sexy. The lighting is gorgeous. This gives a very New York vibe in Montclair and I loved that for this area. We ordered the whipped ricotta, roasted chicken, short rib pappadelle pasta, All of our food as delicious. We even brought a cake in and they brought it out with candles on it as a kind gesture. Our waitress was busy but she still provided us with courteous service. We were asked to leave after we spend over 3 hours at our table. The manager lingered a tad bit long at our table, which was uncomfortable. That is the reason I took off a star.

Love the chic ambiance of the restaurant. Our server Matt was knowledgeable of the menu and suggested the perfect appetizers for our table. The Tuna Tartar was served with watermelon which was actually delicious. The meatballs were your classic meatballs which hit perfectly. The Mac and cheese was pretty average so I would suggest skipping that appetizer. Overall I enjoyed my visit here and recommend a try! 8/10

The Maddox has a sleek look with two full bars and plenty of seating. It's a solid option for a date night with your expected bill to be in the $125/200 range depending on if you go for appetizers and drinks. The calamari was really flavorful. Ask for free bread! Our entrees (salmon and pasta) were generous offerings. It's also off the main roads in Montclair so you shouldn't run into as many problems with parking

Brand new in the heart of Monclair. This place is an amazing spot to go for a date night or just feeling fancy and want a quick bite with friends. All the drinks are amazing the Saints and sinners the smoke and mirrors, the dirty martini all fantastic! And perhaps we started with the bacon state which was my favorite the steak tartare, and the grilled octopus so good Our server Brandon was super attentive and accommodating to us, even though the place was packed! For dinner, my friend had the bone in ribeye, and I had the Ragu both were cooked perfectly and then we had an array of sides. My favorite was the Truffle, creamed spinach! I will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu

My husband and I checked this new spot out for a date night. Vibe reads more Hoboken than Montclair. It's dark and trendy with a huge bar in front. We were seated in the back which gave a calmer less bar vibe. Delicious cocktails! The Sinners and Saint cocktail was absolutely amazing. I tried another which was good but not as amazing as S&S. Now the cocktails were $18 ?!? Which just felt too high. We tried a oyster app which great just pricey. I got the salmon as my main ($36?) which good but sort of standard steakhouse fish. The crab Mac n Cheese was creamy and delicious as was the creamed spinach. My husbands steak was well cooked and flavored but very small for over $60. Service was very efficient and defined checked it multiple times. The food and cocktails are good here and the vibe gives it a great night out feeling but it does very a bit overpriced.
